iCREATE- Increasing Capacity for Injury Research in Eastern Europe

GRANT WAS PROLONGED UNTIL September 30, 2027

Since 2017, the Faculty of Medicine has been involved in the implementation of two international research projects funded by the National Institutes of Health – Fogarty International Trauma Training Program iCREATE: Increasing Capacity for Research in Eastern Europe (Coordinator – Prof. Corin Picasa) and INITIatE: International Collaboration to Increase Traumatic Brain Injury in Europe, both at the University of Iowa and the Cluj School of Public Health (Coordinator – prof. Diana Dalf).  Professor Nino Chikhladze, TSU Faculty of Medicine, is coordinator of both projects in Georgia.

The duration of the projct „ICREATE –Increasing Capacity in Research in Eastern Europe" reaches 5 years and the project aims to conduct research and training on trauma and violence in partner countries, including Georgia, Armenia and Moldova.

The students of the Master's and PhD Programme in Public Health of the Faculty of Medicine Participated in the implementation of the both research projects. The project considers the short term and long-term mobility of the Students of the Master’s Programme as well as PhD students and the academic staff for the purpose of conducting trainings at Iowa University and Babes-Bolía University, conducting joint researches and making joint publications.
